How many keys am I holding up?

MADD introduced and continues to utilize Victim Impact Panels in order to put a face on the victims of drunk driving. These individuals are not just faceless victims, but are people whose lives have been tragically altered as a result of someone's decision to drink and drive. When a drunk driving crashes results in death, it is murder, and the pain and destruction is no different from that caused by other types of murder.

Persons convicted of impaired driving, some traffic violations, or underage drinking are ordered by the courts to attend Victim Impact Panels.  Interested members of the community and new, inexperienced drivers are invited to attend at no charge. MADD's Victim Impact Panels are provided to educate both alcohol-related offenders and the general public on the impact this violent crime has on its victims.

We welcome volunteers who are willing to come and share their stories about how alcohol has affected their lives. Victims, remorseful offenders, law enforcement officers, firefighters, coroners, hospital staff, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, anyone who has been affected in one way or another by alcohol-related crashes is free to come speak at our panels. If you are interested in participating in a Victim Impact Panel as a speaker or as a participant, call MADD at 562-6890 or email info@madd.org.
